Meet chelsia
To Chelsia Harris, human life is precious, no matter what age or stage one might be in at the present time. After two miscarriages, losing her daddy at a young age, and experiencing the tragic death of her nana to nursing home neglect, she has spent her life dedicated to helping individuals recognize the value of human life and experience resilience in an emotionally and spiritually fatigued world.
Chelsia firmly believes that God does not call the equipped, He equips the called.
Being raised by a blue-collar family in a small community in Arkansas, without even so much as a traffic light, never stopped Chelsia from fulfilling the divine calling she felt upon her life. You will often catch Chelsia saying “If it can’t take my eternity, then you can’t stop me!” This statement comes from a heart of humility. She doesn’t believe that anyone can be anything, but she does believe that with passion, drive, and a lot of hard work, everyone can fulfill their purpose and divine calling.
As a nurse practitioner, educator, leader, and executive, Chelsia has harnessed her passion for people and served from the bedside to the board room. Graduating valedictorian of her high school class (Atkins High School –2000), she went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (Arkansas Tech University - 2004), her Master of Science in Nursing degree (Vanderbilt University - 2008), and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (Case Western Reserve University - 2015). However, if you visit with Chelsia for any length of time, you will learn that her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mommy in 2015!
Chelsia is a local, regional, national, and international speaker on topics such as compassion fatigue, daily spiritual experience, finding your purpose, and combining faith with serious academics. Chelsia has authored articles in and served as a peer reviewer for various professional nursing journals, as well as authored an inspiring professional nursing book, Created and Called: A Journey to and through Nursing.
Although nursing is her vocational calling, Chelsia’s deep desire to support emotional and spiritual resilience has ignited her passion to write children’s books encouraging, motivating, and developing positive character traits among young children. Her first book of a new series, Hannah Visits Nana in the Nursing Home recently released November 2018.
Chelsia is on a mission to serve, encourage, motivate, and ignite. The small-town, country-loving girl from Arkansas wants to help you recognize your value, maintain your passion and compassion, and join her in saying “If it can’t take my eternity, then you can’t stop me!”
